A wallet, a payment network and a marketplace maintain different records. Understanding that separation prevents one status label from being mistaken for another.

Shows whether a transaction was broadcast and how many confirmations the network has added.
Marketplace record
Associates a detected transaction with an order and assigns its own pending, paid or refund label.
Status language
Common labels answer different questions

| Confirmed | The platform considers its confirmation threshold satisfied. | The exact threshold is platform-specific and can change. |
| Held | Funds are represented as reserved for an order workflow. | A UI label does not reveal how custody is technically implemented. |
| Released | The workflow records funds as moved to the next participant. | This state may be irreversible under the platform's rules. |
| Refunded | The platform records a return transaction or refund outcome. | Verify the external transaction rather than relying only on the label. |
Record checks
Compare identifiers before interpreting a status
Amount and asset
Confirm that the order and external transaction refer to the same amount and asset. Similar numbers are not proof of a match.
Transaction identifier
Use an exact identifier when available. Screenshots without identifiers are difficult to reconcile.
Destination record
Check the destination supplied for that specific order rather than reusing an old value.
Refund details
A refund workflow needs a clearly stated destination and a separate external transaction to confirm completion.
